Environmental Protection in Ukraine – Защита окружающей среды в Украине
The protection of nature has become one of the most burning problems of the 21st century. The Earth provides people with mineral resources, rivers, forests, fields – everything that makes the foundation of industrial and agricultural production. Why does all this want protection? Because people often do things which pollute land and waters greatly. It’s very dangerous because it damages health of the people.
There are a lot of industrial enterprises in our country, that’s why we can’t ignore the problem of the protection of our environment. Our plants and factories put their waste materials into water and atmosphere and pollute the environment. There are, many kinds of transport in our big cities, that’s why we must pay attention to the protection of our nature and the health of people.

The other problem is an earthquakes. We know some terrible earthquakes in Armenia. Our scientists try to forecast earthquakes, then we can protect ourselves from them.
Not only people but the nature is too ill. Millions of years ago animals lived on land, there were lots of trees on the Earth. But now trees as well as. the animal world are in danger. They are killed by polluted air and acid rains. Tons of smoke and gas are emitted into the air. But unfortunately very little is being done to save them. If the trees die, we shall die too, because they supply us with oxygen to breathe.
Environmental protection is a great concern of the Ukrainian Government. The Ministry of Environment Protection was founded in Ukraine. Their tasks are to control the state of environment and sources of pollution, to protect the water resources of Ukraine, to extend the network of nature reserves and to maintain with international ecological organizations.
The Ukrainian Green Party is very active today. “Zeleny Svit” is the Russian ecological newspaper. It calls on people to protect the nature and to use it in a more careful and economical manner for the benefit of the present and future generations.
Our Earth is our home. I think people must take care of our Motherland.

Охрана окружающей среды стала одной из самых актуальных проблем XXI века. Наша планета дает людям полезные ископаемые, реки, леса, поля – все, что составляет основу промышленности и сельскохозяйственной продукции. Почему же все это нуждается в защите? Потому что деятельность людей часто приводит к сильному загрязнению почвы и воды. Это очень опасно, поскольку вредит здоровью людей.
В нашей стране много промышленных предприятий, поэтому мы не можем игнорировать проблему охраны окружающей среды. Наши заводы и фабрики выбрасывают отходы в воду и атмосферу и загрязняют окружающую среду. В больших городах много видов транспорта, поэтому мы должны уделять внимание нашей природе и здоровью людей.
Авария на Чернобыльской атомной электростанции в апреле 1986 года привела к радиоактивному загрязнению огромной территории вокруг станции. Более 100 000 украинских граждан были эвакуированы из города Чернобыль и других районов вблизи реактора.
Другая проблема – землетрясения. Мы знаем о ужасные землетрясения в Армении. Наши ученые пытаются прогнозировать землетрясения, чтобы мы могли уберечься от них.
Не только люди, но и природа больна. Миллионы лет назад животные жили на земле, где было много деревьев. Но сейчас деревья, так же как и животный мир в опасности, их убивают загрязненный воздух и кислотные дожди. Большое количество дыма и газа выбрасывается в атмосферу. Но, к сожалению, делается очень мало для того, чтобы предотвратить это. Если деревья погибнут, то мы также погибнем, поскольку они обеспечивают нас кислородом.
Украинское правительство придает большое значение охране окружающей среды. В Украине учреждено Министерство охраны окружающей среды. Его цель – контролировать состояние окружающей среды и источники загрязнения, охранять водные ресурсы Украины, расширять сеть природных заповедников и поддерживать сотрудничество с международными экологическими организациями.
Достаточно активной является сегодня Партия зеленых Украины. “Зеленый мир” – украинская экологическая газета. Она призывает людей охранять здоровье природы и использовать ее ресурсы более разумно и экономно ради современных и грядущих поколений.
Наша Земля – наш дом. Я считаю, что люди должны беспокоиться о судьбе Родины.
